To allow you to test the effects of new frequencies or new tour assignments before going live, we recommend doing so in a planning mode.
Create a new planning mode
A new planning mode can be created in the toolbar using the icon . Clicking the icon opens an overview of all planning modes available for the economic entity. A new planning mode can be created using the Copy from version button:
In the first field, enter a name for the new planning mode. In the second field, select the planning mode from which you want to create a copy. Click Save and Show to create and display the new planning mode.
Edit Planning Mode
To edit an existing, inactive planning mode, click the planning mode icon to display an overview of all planning modes from the economic entity. The following actions are available via the three-dot menu to the right of an inactive planning mode:
Show: When the View action is selected, the planning mode is displayed and changes can be made.
Compare: The Compare action generates and displays a comparison with the active planning mode. Here, you can track what has changed compared to the active planning mode. It shows what has been added, deleted, and updated. Updates include all changes to existing tasks and area types, such as a frequency change, a change to the area type or a new tour assignment. You can view the changes in detail using the dropdown arrows.
Activate: The Activate action switches planning mode to live mode. Important: Since a modified version always affects tour planning and tour times, it is recommended that you simulate the version beforehand and compare the changes using the comparison view.
The following warning message appears upon activation:
To avoid disrupting current tour planning or ongoing operations, we recommend that you do not activate a new planning mode while cleaning tours are in progress. If this is not possible, you must select Activate when tours are running checkbox. In this case, we recommend informing team leaders and cleaning staff about the change to avoid any confusion.
Edit: If you need to change the name of a planning mode, you can do so using the Edit action.
Delete: You can delete planning modes that have never been activated and those that were activated but for which no cleaning was performed. This is because no analytics data or cleaning data was collected for these planning modes, which would also be deleted if the planning mode were deleted.
