For the soobr app to work, the app needs access to the Internet. The connection does not have to be constant, but at least at the start and end of the cleaning tour. By default, the soobr devices are delivered with a SIM card with mobile data and the WIFI connection is deactivated. If WIFI is used as an option, some points must be observed.
Soobr explicitly recommends the use of SIM cards instead of WIFI.
Known problems with the WIFI connections
Cleaning tours end without connection
If the cleaning tour ends without connection, a warning is displayed to the cleaner. If this is ignored by the cleaner and the soobr app is no longer active, the data is not transferred. This occurs, for example, when the mobile device turns off the screen. This means that the cleaning program for the next run may be calculated incorrectly because not all cleanings are transferred.
Automatic selection of a foreign WIFI
If the mobile device automatically detects WIFI networks, it is possible that the device connects to a public network and thus the data may not be transferred.
WLAN authentication adjustment
It happens again and again that WLAN authentications are adapted. Especially in larger companies this happens regularly. Usually, the employees are informed about this by the company. However, the fact that the cleaning staff has access to the WIFI may be forgotten.
Troubleshooting
In all cases, the cleaning staff may not be able to do their job properly. The responsibility for ensuring that the cleaning staff's mobile devices always have proper access to the WIFI lies with soobr's customer.
